Dr. Olsen is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army and served tours in Iraq and Kosovo. His experience in Iraq treating many complex fractures and injuries has proven very valuable to his practice, by challenging his surgical skills and providing him with a wide range of experience. At a young age, Dr. Olsen realized he was fascinated by the musculoskeletal system when his uncle Bill took him into an operating room and his research lab and explained what he was doing. Dr. Olsen says, “Being able to repair tissue and bone with surgery intrigued me!”
Dr. Gordon Olsen is a Utah native. He has three children, three of the best grandchildren and two Siberian Huskies. He enjoys spending time with the family, playing acoustic guitar, running with his dogs, cycling and skiing, vacationing in Jackson, WY and Disneyland.
Dr. Olsen enjoys working with people and being able to see his patients’ lives improve with treatment.

SKILLED SURGEON USING MAKO ROBOTIC-ARM ASSISTED SURGERY
“Using a virtual 3D model, the Mako System allows surgeons to create each patient’s surgical plan preoperatively before entering the operating room. During surgery, the surgeon can validate that plan and make any necessary adjustments while guiding the robotic-arm to execute that plan. It’s exciting to be able to offer this transformative technology across the joint replacement service line to perform total knee, total hip and partial knee replacements,” said Dr. Gordon Olsen, Orthopedic Surgeon at UBH.
