Dr. James Potter, Board Certified Anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained Interventional Pain Management Specialist, is very excited to return to rural Utah to practice medicine. Dr. Potter grew up in Price, Utah, but since graduating from SUU, he and his wife and children lived in northern Missouri, around the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area, then in Clearwater, Florida. While they enjoyed their adventures in each of those areas of the country, they are happy to be back in beautiful, unique Utah.
Dr. Potter’s initial training is in anesthesiology, including surgery, obstetrics, airway management, and perioperative pain management. After practicing anesthesiology for several years, he had the opportunity to further his pain management skills through a fellowship. He loves getting to know patients in a clinical setting and helping them find relief from their acute or chronic pain—from neck and back to arthritis and spinal stenosis, from cancer pain to headaches and sports injuries. To manage the pain relief of patients, Dr. Potter offers radio frequency ablations, epidurals, spinal cord stimulators, and other interventional procedures, as well as ultrasound-guided in-office injections and oral medications.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Potter enjoys biking, running, fishing, boating, skiing, traveling just about anywhere, and mostly being with his wife and four children.
