Walt moved to the Uintah Basin from Heber City, UT while in high school. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology from Weber State University, then attended the University of Washington Medex PA program, where he obtained a Masters of Clinical Health Services degree, graduating in 2013. Before attending PA school, he worked as a medical technologist and laboratory manager at the Uintah Basin Medical Center laboratory.
When not seeing patients in the hospital or Emergency Department, he spends time with his family farming, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, watching and participating in all sorts of sports, and reading. Together with his wife, Bethany, they have five children.
