Sandi has been a nurse since 2001, so it was natural for her to want to advance her career and become a Nurse Practitioner. She loves helping people and family medicine seemed to be the right fit. Sandi says, “I want to help the community I live in and the people I care about.” Sandi provides family medical care at the Duchesne Valley Medical Clinic, in Duchesne, UT.
Sandi fondly recalls being awarded the Hartford Geriatric Excellence in Nursing Award for her project on assessing the nutritional status of veterans in the Uintah Basin, and diagnosing a murmur during a sports physical that led to the diagnosis of a significant heart condition. The patient underwent open-heart surgery to correct the problem, and is now doing well.
Sandi’s pride and joy is her family, with five boys! They like to camp, go fishing and spend time together as a family. They also do a lot of work together on their farm.
